The 47 mm Filter Cassette holds and supports the delicate filter in air samplers such as EPA PM2.5 federal reference method (FRM) samplers and other types of air particulate samplers. Alaric Model FC47 series filter cassettes are manufactured in the USA by our experienced machinists and technicians, with innovative features features at a reasonable price. Each unit is CNC machined from wear-resistant white Delrin acetal polymer to precise tolerances for a consistent leakproof fit, and optionally include a laser-etched serial number on the bottom of the perforated screen disc. Our model FC47P cassettes are excellent replacements for the crack-prone blue injection molded plastic 47 mm filter cassettes used in some brands of air samplers. These cassettes are machined from the same white Delrin polymer as our standard EPA 47mm filter cassettes, with the addition of a large chamfer in the top surface which fits samplers that use this type of cassette. NEW!   Our lathe-machined 47mm filter cassettes are now available made from black Delrin. These deviate from EPA specifications only by the color of the plastic. Unlike natural white Delrin, the black material can be permanently laser marked with serial numbers or other information right on the plastic surface. This provides ultimate traceability, and even allows the top and bottom parts of the cassette to be matched together. We do the laser marking in-shop, and we can offer custom text to your requirements. We carefully tuned our laser process to produce surface markings without any burning or melting of the surface, resulting in no added air leakage potential. We manufacture special polypropylene filter cassettes for certain speciation sampling applications where the potential outgassing from standard Delrin plastic could be problematic. Otherwise made to the same exact specifications as our standard FC47 filter cassettes. These are supplied on a special order basis. Contact us  for details.

Our Model 10044 steel transport can protects the 47mm filter cassette and the sample filter from damage or contamination during trasportation and field deployment. The twist-top lid has laser etched Cassette ID and Filter ID serial number fields which can be marked with a wet-erase pen and can be easily cleaned for reuse. Our unique machined Delrin internal spacer prevents the filter cassette from moving inside the can, and contains no foam material in order to eliminate the potential for sample contamination. The main reason that 47mm filter cassettes wear out is because the plastic stretches and wears due to repeated opening cycles. Our professional, lab-grade Model FCT Filter Cassette Opening Tool is designed to minimize this by prying the two halves of the cassette straight along the axis, not by wedging them apart from the edge. These are made from laser-cut anodized aircraft aluminum with polished edges. Properly made filter cassettes are usually too tight to open by hand, and this tool is the solution. NEW!   We have revived and updated the classic snap-on style 47mm filter cassette caps by customer request. Our model 10097 cassette caps protect the filter cassette and sample filter during transportation, while taking a minimum amount of space compared to transport cans. Precision photochemically milled from stainless steel and formed in our own custom made stamp tooling for a tight fit on EPA-spec (2.115 inch OD) 47mm filter cassettes. These do not fit the blue injection molded filter cassettes. Two caps are required per filter cassette. Quantity discounts are available.

We worked with our metal lithographer for months to get the phototool for these tricky 47 mm perforated screen discs absolutely perfect, and the results speak for themselves. These are the same screen discs that we use in our 47mm filter cassettes, and they are available separately as replacements or spares to fit 47 mm filter cassette from any manufacturer. Anyone who has operated an FRM particulate sampler knows how difficult it can be to find and fix a flow system leak in the field, especially if you have a small filter change window. Our Model LTT original design FRM leak test tool set allows the site technician to quickly identify if a flow system leak is located above the filter cassette, below the filter cassette, or in the cassette itself. EPA specified PM2.5 reference method 46.2mm PTFE particulate sampling filters. We offer these in partial-pack quantities as a convenience for users who just need a few PM2.5 filters without the expense or lead time of ordering a full pack. These are high quality Whatman 7592-104 PTFE membrane filters with serialized PP support rings. We usually have some in stock for immediate delivery.

These are the correct vented polystyrene plastic petri dish slides used for laboratory equilibration of 47mm (46.2mm) PM2.5 air sampling filters per EPA PM2.5 Guidance Document 2.12. These have a tab which can accommodate an identification label. The slide format allows the sample filters to be analyzed with a microscope. We also offer these partial pack quantities for those who don't require a full case. Measure 76 x 52 x 6.5 mm with a 47.6mm diameter dish.

Our Model 10050 Leak Test Valve & Flow Check Adapters meet or exceed all EPA Flow Rate Measurement Adapterspecifications for use with particulate samplers and continuous monitors. We think ours is the finest available. The unique knurled body and oversized paddle-style valve handle allow our model to be used easily in all weather conditions, even with gloves. This fits all samplers, inlet tubes, or cyclones that have a standard 1.246 inch diameter top tenon. The replaceable 3/8" tube to 1/4 MPT brass hose barb can easily be changed to another size or type to acommodate your flow audit meter.

A leak test tool for the EPA-pattern PM10 inlet. The standard EPA leak check procedures for air samplers and monitors test everything downstream of the PM10 inlet only. A leak in the PM10 inlet can go undiscovered. Our Model 10052 is a precise silicone plug that can be temporarily placed into the top of the 10-Micron Nozzle Insert (the main jet in the bottom of the large spun aluminum funnel) as an addendum to the standard leak check process. This includes the PM10 inlet particle trap, drip jar, and socket o-rings in the tested volume. It is common for the drip jar hardware to have a leak which could adversely affect the inlet cut-point. The phenolic knob allows the tool to be easily removed. Instructions are included. Also available in our master leak check tool kit.

By customer request, we have combined our three FRM leak test cassettes, our leak test valve and flow adapter, and our PM10 inlet leak test tool into a single master leak test kit, at a discount compared to purchasing the items separately. We design and fabricate custom inlet tubes and roof penetration kits for many air sampling applications. This usually consists of a metal sample tube that extends up vertically through the roof of your shelter, with or withour bracing hardware for support, and a flange assembly to seal the roof penetration againt water leaks. Our roof flange kits are available with integral cable entries which allow outside temperature sensor or other sensor cables to enter the shelter through the same single penetration as the sample tube. Our flanges also extend up above your expected snow load level to prevent roof leaks. We can also accommodate pitched roofs.
